CBD meals are becoming ever more popular. You wouldn’t think Cannabidiol would have become so popular and yet, it is growing in demand every day. It’s strange but of course, it’s plant-based so people believe it’s better for them. That doesn’t mean everyone approves of it and the FDA is still very much undecided about it too. However, a lot of home bakers and cooks want to try CBD in their meals. So, how to cook with CBD at home, and is it safe for you to try? 

A Little Goes a Long Way 

One thing you have to be aware of when cooking with CBD is that it can be very potent or strong. Now, the FDA doesn’t recommend CBD oil – or any CBD-infused product – for consumption so you have to be careful to stay safe. While it is a personal choice, you have to be aware of the potential risks that come with CBD, even if found in food. There’s the risk of experiencing nausea, vomiting, becoming drowsy, and much more from CBD. If you really want to use it in cooking, you have to be extra cautious and careful. You Can Overpower Flavors with CBD 

Cannabidiol is very potent and often has a strong flavor so you have to pair flavors together to mask that taste. For instance, if you wanted to create a salad dressing with a hint of CBD oil, you may not want to use a dull flavor to pair together. The CBD meal might be too overpowering so instead, you may want to opt for sharper or bolder flavors to mask the taste. In fact, a lot of at-home bakers want to try Cannabidiol but dislike the taste and that means you have to use flavors that overpower CBD. Again, there’s a risk with adding CBD in any food so be very careful how much you use.  

Use CBD Oil Very Carefully 

As said, there is an inherent risk of baking or cooking with Cannabidiol. However, if you’re willing to take that risk then use it sparingly. You don’t need a lot to feel the punch and remember it’s strong so it may be the only flavor to come through in the dish. Ideally, you need to pair the ingredients well so that the dish is enjoyable. Yes, you’re making a CBD meals but you don’t want that to be the only thing you taste. Most people don’t enjoy that taste and are off-putting so it’s essential to use ingredients that mask or dull the CBD down.  

Be Adventurous and Cautious with CBD meals

The FDA doesn’t recommend food infused with Cannabidiol but that won’t stop people from trying it. If you want to use CBD, you have to be careful. It’s important to use very small amounts. And remember, the other flavors can get lost in a sea of CBD.
